Characters

LENNIE SMALL
Mentally-handicapped large migrant worker who does not know his own strength. He loves soft things.


GEORGE MILTON
Migrant worker who is tasked with the responsibility of taking care of Lennie. He dreams of one day owning his own ranch, but struggles to make it a reality.


CANDY
“the swamper” an old one-handed handyman who persuades George to let him join their dream of owning a ranch.


CURLEY
Son of the ranch owner; mean little guy who is always picking fights with bigger men. He is extremely jealous of anyone who looks at or talks to his wife.


CURLEY’S WIFE
Curley’s “possession”. She is a tease, and attempts to get the other men’s attention, but she is just lonely and neglected by Curley.


SLIM
the compassionate and understanding leader of the team whom everyone respects. He becomes George’s ally, and helps protect Lennie when he gets in trouble with Curley

CARLSON
Insensitive ranch hand

CROOKS
Black stable hand who cares for the horses. He is isolated due to his color, but becomes friends with Lennie, and convinces him to let him join their ranch scheme.
